Forging Further to 100 Years and Beyond
Manila, Philippines – March 17, 2023, the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy (PRBOA) in collaboration with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the four sectoral organizations ACPAPP, ACPACI, nACPAE, and GACPA held the grand celebration of the centenary of the Accountancy profession in the Philippines, with the theme: “Celebrating the Past. Transforming the Present. Shaping the Future.” at the Manila Hotel. On March 17, 1923, Republic Act 3105 was promulgated creating the Board of Accountancy and the beginning of Licensure Examination for the Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
Hon. Thelma S. Cindadano, member of the PRBOA warmly welcomed luminaries, stakeholders, and guests as the program starts. With great pride and honor, Chairman Noe G. Quiñanola, delivered his message commemorating the 100-year journey of the Accounting Professionals. Likewise, Hon. Charito A. Zamora, Chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission, had also given her simple yet impactful message for all the Glocal Filipino Accountants.
One of the highlights of the centenary celebration was the conferment of the “Accountancy Centenary Recognition of Service Excellence”. The award was given to one hundred (100) Filipino CPAs who demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and excellence in their profession.
In response to the presentation of the Accountancy Centenary Recognition Service Excellence, Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman, Hon. Emilio B. Aquino and former Senator Hon. Manuel B. Villar, Jr. extended acknowledgment and appreciation on behalf of the entire awardees.
To conclude the event, Hon. Samuel B. Padilla, PRBOA Vice Chairman, delivered the closing remarks and conveyed in his message the continuous efforts of the Board of Accountancy in developing Accountancy Services across the globe through meaningful mutual agreements with our Asian neighbors.
